Rome, 9 April (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared a truce in the fighting in Ukraine for Orthodox Easter. This was reported by TASS, citing a Kremlin press release. ‘By decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in view of the upcoming Orthodox Easter holiday, a ceasefire is declared from 4 pm on 11 April until the end of the day on 12 April 2026,’ the statement reads. ‘We assume that the Ukrainian side will follow the Russian Federation’s example,’ the statement adds.
