Rome, 12 Apr. (LaPresse) – In the lunchtime fixture of the 32nd round of Serie A, Genoa beat Sassuolo 2-1 at Marassi, effectively securing their survival. Daniele De Rossi’s men took the lead in the 18th minute through Ruslan Malinovskyi, set up by Tommaso Baldanzi. In the 57th minute, the Emiliani drew level temporarily through Ismael Konè. But in the 83rd minute, Caleb Ekuban doubled the Rossoblù’s lead. Genoa thus climb to 36 points, nine clear of the third-bottom spot in the table. Sassuolo remain on 42, overtaken by Udinese.
