Iran, Araghchi: ‘The US and Israel are responsible for the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz’

Rome, 23 April (LaPresse) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told South Korean Special Envoy Chang Byung-ha during a meeting in Tehran that ‘US and Israeli aggression is the root cause of insecurity’ in the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz. Araghchi spoke to Chang about the ‘crimes’ committed by the United States and Israel and urged countries to take a clear and firm stance in condemning the attacks, the Iranian government said in a social media post. “Iran, as a coastal state, has taken measures in accordance with international law to defend its security and interests. The responsibility for the consequences lies with the aggressors,” Araghchi said.
