Milan, 29 April (LaPresse) – In April 2026, consumer confidence fell from 92.6 to 90.8. This was reported by Istat, which highlighted a widespread deterioration in consumer sentiment, particularly regarding the country’s economic situation: the economic climate fell from 88.1 to 82.7, the future outlook dropped from 85.3 to 82.5, the personal outlook fell from 94.2 to 93.8 and the current climate declined from 98.0 to 96.9. In general, all components of the consumer confidence indicator have deteriorated, with the exception of assessments of household finances and views on savings. In April 2026, the composite business confidence indicator is estimated to have fallen from 97.3 to 95.2. This is according to Istat, which specifies that, with regard to businesses, the decline is most pronounced in market services and construction.
