Lavrov: ‘If Ukraine joins, the EU would fall apart’

Milan, 16 June (LaPresse) – ‘From the point of view of the EU’s internal problems, Ukraine’s accession might not be a bad idea, but then the Union would disintegrate.’ This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference following talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. This was reported by the Tass news agency. ‘If they want to dismantle their multilateral economic structure and become a military bloc, this is an invitation to big trouble for them,’ he added, ‘but if they simply want to forget about the economy, then Zelensky should be invited to join.’
