World Cup: Nagelsmann warns Germany: “Paraguay are a tough opponent”

Milan, 29 June (LaPresse) – Germany are back in the knockout stages of a World Cup for the first time since the 2014 final in Brazil, when they beat Argentina 1–0 to win their fourth title. Leading Germany’s hopes will be head coach Julian Nagelsmann. At 38 years and 341 days, on Monday he will become the youngest manager to reach the round of 16 since France’s Henri Michel in 1986. Paraguay have played five knockout-stage matches without ever managing to score. They have qualified just once, winning on penalties against Japan in the 2010 round of 16. “They play very defensive football,” said Nagelsmann of Paraguay. “They are a tough opponent for us and will test us to the limit,” he added.
