Sanremo, Clerici : « Moi et De Martino ? On se ressemble, on aime s’amuser »

Rome, 21 April (LaPresse) – “De Martino? He’s a handsome lad, he’s a showman, he can dance and sing, without this overshadowing his talent as a presenter. He’s also brought his charm and good looks to bear, but above all, he’s played on his likeability. And I think everything he’s achieving is well deserved. Of course, the Sanremo Festival is a huge leap and no one has ever done it at such a young age, except for Fabio Fazio, who, however, had paid his dues for a long time. But times have changed, and I’m convinced that Stefano will prepare himself very well and his Festival will be a success.” So said Antonella Clerici in an interview with Chi to mark her 40-year career. When asked whether Clerici would join De Martino at Sanremo, the presenter replied: “In my opinion, Stefano shouldn’t worry about who will co-host with him, but rather surround himself with people who make him feel at ease and with whom he can have fun and play around, as he already does. It doesn’t mean he has to bring exactly the same team, because that would be repetitive, but he needs to surround himself with people who make him feel comfortable. In that respect, we’re alike.” And on the controversy with Ligabue, who allegedly refused to go to Clerici’s Sanremo in 2010 because “it smelled of sugo” (the singer has denied this), the presenter replied: “Come on, that’s long past now. But I don’t regret saying it.” Today, many high-flyers appreciate tomato sauce. “They’ve realised it’s not a bad thing. It’s definitely better than fancy restaurants,” she explained.
