Milan, Apr 13 (LaPresse) – “I think the truth is quite clear, our friends, the United States and Israel, have made a serious mistake. Whatever the objectives were, I continue to think that it made sense to reduce Iran’s nuclear capability. I believe there is no doubt that they have started a war they do not know how to end, because the Iranians have cornered them. The issue of the Strait of Hormuz is a huge problem. The question is: what does Europe do? What does Great Britain do? What does Italy do?” said former British prime minister Boris Johnson, interviewed by Quarta Repubblica on Rete4. “I think that in reality Europe should try to do everything possible to support America,” he explained. “Our captain made a mistake. What do we do? Does the team abandon him? No, it tries to help him. There is a limit to what we can do and obviously we can decide not to take part in attacks against Iran because we do not see a military objective or a logic, or perhaps simply the reason has not been adequately explained to us. However, we can put pressure on the Iranians until they reopen the strait and send the military support we can,” he added.
