Iran, Macron: ‘Conference with the UK on a peacekeeping mission to reopen the Strait of Hormuz’

Milan, 13 April (LaPresse) – ‘With regard to the Strait of Hormuz, in the coming days we will organise, together with the United Kingdom, a conference with countries willing to join us in a peaceful multinational mission aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the strait. This strictly defensive mission, separate from the warring parties, will be deployed as soon as the situation allows.’ This was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron in a post on social media platform X. “No effort must be spared to swiftly reach, through diplomatic means, a solid and lasting solution to the conflict in the Middle East,” he added, “France is ready to play its full part, as it has always done since the very first day of the conflict.”
