Vatican City (Vatican), 13 April (LaPresse) – “I am not afraid of the Trump administration. I will continue to speak out loud and clear about the message of the Gospel, which is what the Church works for.” Thus, as reported by the Vatican media, Pope Leo XIV responded to US President Donald Trump whilst speaking to journalists on the flight to Algiers. “I do not view my role as that of a politician; I am not a politician, and I do not wish to enter into a debate with him,” observed the Pontiff, referring to the President. “I do not think the message of the Gospel should be misused as some are doing. I continue to speak out strongly against war, seeking to promote peace, fostering dialogue and multilateralism with nations to find solutions to problems. Too many people are suffering today, too many innocents have been killed, and I believe someone must stand up and say that there is a better way.”
