Rome, 21 Apr. (LaPresse/AP) – Security measures have been stepped up in Islamabad, where the authorities have deployed thousands of officers and intensified patrols along the roads leading to the airport, ahead of the expected arrival of the US and Iranian delegations for the second round of talks. Security measures appear to be stricter than those adopted during the first round of talks held in the capital on 11 and 12 April, following diplomatic efforts by Pakistan and countries in the region, including China, to ease tensions in the area. Pakistan has not yet announced the final dates for the talks.
