Milano, Aug. 21 (LaPresse) – Volodymyr Zhuravlev, the Ukrainian man arrested on Wednesday in Pula, Croatia, as part of investigations into the attacks on the Nord Stream pipeline, was working as a consultant on Doug Liman’s film ‘Snake Island’, which is about the sabotage itself. German media reported this. Filming for the movie had already begun in Croatia, with Sean Penn and Adrien Brody among the cast, and they were seen in Zagreb together with a film crew. Liman had decided to shoot some scenes in Pula as well. Photos published by Croatian media from the set of Snake Island show Brody in front of the luxurious Esplanade hotel, talking on his cellphone while Liman gives him instructions. Penn was not present on set, but was reportedly spotted inside the historic building in central Zagreb. It is unclear who alerted the authorities and what exactly Zhuravlev was doing in Croatia. The film’s production company has not yet issued a statement.
