Electoral law, Bonelli: “Majority is held together with tape, Meloni betrays her own history”

Rome, Sept. 10 (LaPresse) – “This majority is held together with tape: it’s everyone against everyone. Tajani against Salvini, Salvini against Tajani and Brothers of Italy unable to hold the majority together. Giorgia Meloni has betrayed her political history, which spoke of preference votes and of giving citizens the possibility to choose. Instead, today they are proposing a provision with closed-list lead candidates: the sign of a majority, starting with Meloni, now in total disarray, thinking only about how to retain power, forgetting and effectively preventing citizens from being able to choose their representatives. They talk only about the electoral law, forgetting the real problems facing Italians: low wages, the climate crisis, high energy costs, public healthcare, to which they have cut funding.” Angelo Bonelli, co-spokesperson of EV and AVS MP, said this in a statement.
