Milan, 16 Sept. (LaPresse) – To sentence Davide Fontana to life imprisonment once again, recognising that the murder of Carol Maltesi was a premeditated crime. This is the request made by the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office in the third appeal hearing against the former bank employee and food blogger who, on 11 January 2022, killed the 26-year-old woman with whom he had been in a relationship in Rescaldina, striking her 13 times with a hammer and stabbing her once whilst she was tied up, gagged with sticky tape and hooded during an adult video that he himself had commissioned via a fake social media profile to sell on OnlyFans. The 46-year-old has appeared for the third time before the judges of the Second Court of Assizes of Appeal (there is a conflict of interest with the judges of the first panel as they have already tried him twice, each time sentencing him to life imprisonment for premeditated murder) after the Court of Cassation twice quashed the second-instance judgements on the grounds of that very aggravating circumstance.
