Rome, 16 Sept. (LaPresse) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Iran welcomes diplomatic solutions, whilst remaining ready to defend its national sovereignty. During a meeting in Beijing with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Araghchi said that Tehran had initiated a dialogue with neighbouring countries to restore calm in the region. “Whilst upholding our principles and remaining steadfast in defending the inalienable rights of the Iranian people, we hope to see calm restored in the region and the promotion of friendly and peaceful relations with our neighbours,” said Araghchi, according to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
